Vicent Ferrer i Mayans
Vicent Ferrrer i Mayans is a philologist and teacher of Catalan language. He has published in spheres such as mediaevalism, sociolinguistics, micro-toponymy, language teaching, folklore, literary criticism and dissemination in the Humanities field. He has also worked as an illustrator and a comic strip writer, and in the 1980s and 1990s he was the driving force behind some fanzines in Catalan. As a playwright, he has written some plays for the younger audience, such as Eren pesants, els gots (2000), En un somni de pirates (FGATC Prize 2002) and Snif… Snif… Corsaris! (Guillem d’Efak Prize, 2005). He took part in the radio theatre project Material Acústic Antiaïllant (2008). In 2006 he won the Ciutat d’Alcoi Theatre Prize with Carnatge and the Ramon Vinyes with Tramuntana morta, a text which is currently in the midst of being produced at the Teatre Principal in Palma.
