Àlex Mañas

Playwright, scriptwriter and theatre and cinema director. He holds a degree in Law. As a scriptwriter, he is the author of Germanes by Carol López and Positius by Judith Colell, both nominated for the best TV movie for the Gaudí Prizes. Moreover, he is the director of Hada, a feature film produced by Turkana films, and the short film Mejor Amigo, selected at numerous festivals and with which he won the award for best director at the 12 Months Film Festival in Romania. Some plays he has written and directed are Algo (Runner-up for small format theatrical production in the BCN Theatre Prizes), En cualquier otra parte (SGAE Prize 2007. Performed at the Festival Grec and in Bogotá), the musical Què (Teatre Coliseum. Nominated for best musical in the Butaca Prizes), Íncubo (La Villarroel), My Sweet Country (Cowritten with The Mamzelles Company. Teatre Poliorama), Bela Bartók, Exili a Nova York (Festival Grec-Espai Lliure) and Amanda T (Sala Atrium, 2016; Teatro Fernán Gómez in Madrid, 2018, and Teatre Nacional de Catalunya, 2019. Runner-up of the BBVA Theatre Prize).
