Àlex Mañas

Playwright, scriptwriter and theatre director. He holds a degree in Law. As a scriptwriter, he is the author of Germanes by Carol López, Positius, co-written with Aina Clotet, both nominated for the best TV movie for the Gaudí Prizes, and the short film De Buena Mañana, directed by Isak Férriz (Audience Prize at the Barcelona Mecal). As a director, his short film Mejor Amigo (2016) was selected at numerous festivals and he won the award for best director at the 12 Months Film Festival in Romania. Some plays he has written and directed are Algo (2005), En cualquier otra parte (2006. SGAE Prize. Performed at the Festival Grec and in Bogotá), the musical Què (2007. Teatre Coliseum. Winner of the Butaca Prize for the best musical composition), Íncubo (2011. La Villarroel), My Sweet Country (2013. Cowritten in collaboration with The Mamzelles Company. Teatre Poliorama), Bela Bartók, Exili a Nova York (2014. Festival Grec-Espai Lliure) and Amanda T (2016. Sala Atrium).
