Joan Gallart

Philologist, playwright and stage director. He began his work in theatre at the CCR in Pineda de Mar where he wrote and/or adapted and directed several plays, notably the musical La Festa (short-listed for the 2006 Ateneu Prizes).

Author and director of Sexe, amor i literatura (Arola editors; Versus Teatre and Teatre Gaudí, 2008/2009) and La síndrome de Bucay (2008 Teatre Ciutat de Gandia Prize; Versus Teatre and Teatre Gaudí, 2009/2010). Spanish adaptation of Boeing-Boeing, by Marc Camoletti (Teatre Coliseum, 2009, and Teatre Apolo, 2010). Author of the script for the Gospel Viu show, Spirituals (Palau de la Música Catalana, 2010). Theatre adaptation and direction of Planeta ESO (Versus Teatre, 2011; based on the eponymous essay by Empar Fernández and Judit Pujadó) and El dolor invisible (Nau Ivanow, 2012; based on the novel by Jordi Sierra i Fabra). Author  ofEl joc de la gran mentida (short-listed for the 2011 Recull Prizes – Josep Ametller Theatre Prize) and the script for the musical with songs by Sau Boig per tu (Atlàntida in Vic and BARTS, 2013).
