Ahir (2012)

Today’s the big day. A box of chocolates, a restaurant booked and a ring. He can’t fail. Because the world is no longer the world: the world is her. And everything goes well. Very well. Until the point where she asks that question. “Where were you YESTERDAY?” It seems unreal how much things can change with just one question. It can have a catastrophic effect on their future. A future that he imagines with them watching a fun and laughter-filled programme on television, surrounded by fun and laughter-filled kids. What a shit question. Perhaps it will turn out that it is true, that she is the world. And that the world asks questions.
A short piece for THEATRE UNCUT 2012. Premiered at the Young Vic Theatre in London. Love, betrayal, world and other “poelitical” considerations.
