Cabaret Švejk

Carlos Be wrote this play in commemoration of the centenary of the death of Jaroslav Hašek, author of The Good Soldier Švejk, for the purpose of introducing the adventures of Czech literature’s antihero par excellence to today’s audiences.

On stage, the actors embody numerous characters: from Švejk to Umberto Eco, including RuPaul, Milan Kundera, Vladimir Putin, and even Artificial Intelligence.

This play was commissioned by the Czech Centre and the Czech Embassy.
