Esthetic paradise (2004)
Author: Victoria Szpunberg
Esthetic Paradise is a beauty centre located in a peripheral neighbourhood. The building, immaculate outside and full of mysterious nooks and crannies inside, is divided into floors. On the top floor the workers can face the public, attending clients; on the lowest floor, in the basement, the less qualified workers dedicate themselves to bandaging unrecognisable women. Esthetic Paradise is the story of girl who loses her mother in a beauty centre, a place where the cult of physical image turns women into slaves. The start of a theatrical journey that, between comedy and tragedy, speaks of the loss of identity.
