Quebec-Barcelona (2010)

Quebec-Barcelona is the story of two women travelling in opposite directions to each other. Eva, a primary school teacher, goes from Barcelona to Quebec, the home country of Caillou, a children’s cartoon character who lives in an idyllic Canadian suburb. She is fleeing from personal failure, the failure of the education system and the impossibility of changing the world individually. Meanwhile Ann, from Quebec, travels to Barcelona in search of the mystified dream of passionate, everlasting love, the story of an ancestor who took part in the International Brigades and ended up settling in Catalonia, a story she had heard recounted numerous times at the Christmas dinner table. During the adventure that is their trip, the two women come face to face with a truth that their home city, too close, would not allow them to see.
