Nevenka, Milica and Meliha are three of thousands of women and girls –between 25 and 50 thousand of them– who were raped during the Bosnian War as part of an ethnic cleansing strategy. This happened right at the heart of Europe, just a two-hour flight from Barcelona where, at that very moment, we were enjoying the Olympic euphoria of the ’92 Games. Officially, the war ended years ago, but has it ended for the rape survivors and for the children born of those rapes?
