Llum trencada

The Spanish coup d’état on 18 July 1936 broke the desires for freedom and progress of a large part of the population. For women, it meant the loss of all the rights that they had won with the Second Republic and it relegated them, once more, to a life of submission and silence. This text aims to recover the memory of some of those women. Strong women, brave women, frightened women, rebel women, angry women, women broken by grief who rose up in the midst of a dark and dangerous time.
