18 May 1991. Sergei Krikaliev is sent to space as a flight engineer aboard the Soiuz TM-12, two weeks after Sergio Dalma got the 4th place in the Eurovision Song Contest.

25 March 1992. The director of the Théâtre du Soleil describes the upcoming Eurodisney opening as “a cultural Chernobyl”. That same afternoon, Sergei Krikaliev returns to Earth aboard the Soiuz TM-13, becoming the last Soviet on Earth.

This is a story about the journey of the Soviet hero. Or about the journey of the abandoned cosmonaut. A narration of the events that build our story. Or their story. Or everyone’s story. It depends on who is telling it.
