Numax-Fagor-plus

Author: Roger Bernat

In 1979, following two and a half years of self-management, workers at the Barcelona electrical appliances factory Numax decided to quit the company and join the ranks of the unemployed. Thirty-four years later, in 2013, the Basque electrical appliances cooperative Fagor closed down, leaving its workers out on the street. Like people carrying out a re-enactment of the Battle of Waterloo, the employees of Fagor reconstruct the story of the workers of Numax.

Far from the charismatic updating of a battle won or lost, Numax-Fagor-plus is the collectivisation of a discourse, the fine-tuning of a battle that, evidently, never came to an end.
