1939. The Spanish Civil War is ending. The destroyer Lepanto has come to a halt 30 miles from the African coast. Its captain, Marc Blanch, does not agree with his superiors, who have decided to “gift” the Republican fleet to the French colonial government of Tunisia. The sailors want to head for Mexico. On board, a mysterious woman passenger advises him against it. What should he do?
Contrary to all appearances, Zoom is no tale of war. It is, above all, a love story. A poetic adventure assembled inside a set of Russian dolls: the planes of memory –collective and individual– multiply and become jumbled. And we no longer know what is true and what is lies.
