Rafel Gallego

Playwright and journalist. The author of plays such as Kelly (Balearics Public Theatres Award for Best Show of 2019), Fake (Balearics Public Theatres Award for Best Playwriting of 2021 and now translated into Greek), Amarg, Dissidents, Llop, Antàrtida (Teatre Principal youth theatre Fictions Project) and co-author of Els que recorden, La malcontenta (adaptation of the novel by Sebastià Alzamora and Balearics Public Theatres Award for Best Playwriting of 2019), Taula italiana (Jaume Roca Award in 2023) and Trista sona la pluja. He has also written a dozen short plays, some of them awarded at different competitions. He has been resident author at the Teatre Principal de Palma, Teatre del Mar and Espai del Tub and is one of the participants of the Faber Llull/Avinyó International Residency with the project Taller Mediterrani. He has taught playwriting classes at the Teatre de Palma Municipal School and has run workshops with Lucía Miranda, Joan Yago and Saara Turunen.
