El meu avi no va anar a Cuba (2008)
Author: Victoria Szpunberg
The work combines three parallel stories with musical interventions (vocals, drums and electronics) and spaces of sound dramaturgy. The first story is about an actress who presents herself at a casting for a film dealing with the subject of the last Argentinian dictatorship. The second story focuses on the director of the film. The third story moves to the 1970s, when a young militant woman receives a call moments before attending a meeting of her political organisation.
Note: This play forms part of a larger work on the fragile nature of the memory (how to narrate an abysmal event: exile and the last Argentinean dictatorship). Besides this text, also forming part of the work are La marca preferida de las hermanas Clausman (2010) and the radio play La memòria d’una Ludisia (2008).
