Sergi Pompermayer

Sergi Pompermayer made his debut as playwright in 1997 with Zowie (XXV Ciutat d’Alcoi Award), premiered at the Teatre Lliure. He has written El Sexe dels Objectes, Refugiats, Top Model, Llum de Guàrdia (with Julio Manrique), Oddi, New Order, Sacrifici, Ossos, Blues, La Comedia de las Mentiras (with Pep Anton Gómez), Bouvetøya, la necessitat d’una illa (with Julio Manrique, Cristina Genebat and Ivan Benet), the libretto for the family opera La Cuina de Rossini for the Gran Teatre del Liceu and Amèrica. He has also written the dramaturgies of Timó d’Atenes by W. Shakespeare, Don Joan by Molière and Instruccions per fer-se feixista by Michela Murgia. Together with Marc Artigau and Julio Manrique, he received the Max Award for the best theatre adaptation for Carrer Robadors by Mathias Enard. He has plays translated into different languages. He is also a television scriptwriter and teacher of stage direction and scriptwriting at the ESCAC.
