Sergi Pompermayer

A graduate in Veterinary Science, Sergi Pompermayer studied acting at the Col·legi del Teatre and made his debut as a playwright in 1997 with Zowie (25th Ciutat d’Alcoi Award) at the Teatre Lliure. Other plays premiered include El Sexe dels Objectes, Refugiats, Top Model, Llum de guàrdia, co-written with Julio Manrique, Oddi, New Order, Sacrifici, Blues, La Comedia de las Mentiras, co-written with Pep Anton Gómez, Bouvetøya, la necessitat d’una illa, America, Grand Canyon and the libretto of the family opera La Cuina de Rossini. He has also produced stage adaptations of Timó d’Atenes by W. Shakespeare, Don Joan and El Misantrop by Molière, Instruccions per fer-se feixista by Michela Murgia and Carrer Robadors by Mathias Enard (the latter, together with Marc Artigau and Julio Manrique; Max Award to the best theatre adaptation). He has plays published and translated in Spanish, English, Portuguese, Czech, Italian, Greek and Albanese.
