In a remote region, Windy Night is the last speaker of her language, which means that when she dies, the age-old memory of her people will disappear with her. The woman refuses to speak in the country’s official language and lives with her granddaughter, with whom she has a difficult relationship. The girl does not understand why her grandmother stubbornly insists on speaking only Xaatmi, a language that she has renounced. The arrival of a young anthropologist, who has come to record Windy Night so that an oral testimony of Xaatmi can be preserved, will trigger a series of events that uncover a dark and painful past.
